As a highly qualified and caring social services worker with over ten years of diverse experience, I am passionate about improving the quality of life for those who are disadvantaged. My professional journey has equipped me with extensive knowledge and skills in human services, adult care, children and youth care, disabled care provision, corrections, and addiction services. I bring a friendly, patient demeanor and exceptional communication skills to my practice, ensuring that each client receives the attentive, personalized care they deserve.

In my current role as a Domestic Peace Counsellor, I provide one-on-one and group interventions to support individuals and families affected by domestic violence. My approach is grounded in attachment styles and emotionally focused therapy, allowing me to connect deeply with clients and facilitate meaningful progress. Additionally, my leadership experience as a Department Manager in Supported Housing has honed my abilities in strategic planning, team building, and effective management of high-risk crises, ensuring the safety and well-being of both service recipients and staff.

I have a Master of Arts Degree in Counselling Psychology from Yorkville University and am registered with the BC Association of Clinical Counselors and the Canadian Counseling and Psychotherapy Association. My academic and professional background, combined with my dedication to ongoing learning, allows me to offer evidence-based, compassionate care to my clients. I am skilled in managing complex client needs, developing comprehensive care plans, and collaborating with various health authorities and agencies to provide holistic support.

Outside of my professional life, I am a devoted mother and wife. I understand the importance of balancing family and career, and I bring this empathy into my practice. My goal is to help individuals and families achieve their personal and relational goals, fostering resilience and promoting mental health and well-being. Whether you are seeking support for trauma, relationship issues, or other challenges, I am here to walk with you on your journey to healing and growth.

My Approach to Therapy

Embarking on a journey towards mental health can be daunting, and I understand the courage it takes to take that first step. My approach is characterized by empathy, kindness, and a non-judgmental attitude, ensuring that you always feel supported. I believe that our minds, emotions, bodies, and souls work together to navigate our experiences and express our needs. In our sessions, I will help you recognize and understand your experiences, allowing us to address areas where you may feel stuck. We will move at a pace that feels right for you, exploring your concerns, identifying your needs, and healing the parts of you that need attention.

My therapeutic style is driven by compassion and curiosity, focusing on a client-centered approach to healing. Together, we will incorporate various techniques into your therapeutic journey, such as mindfulness, body awareness, parts work, breathing exercises, visualization, creative activities, writing, movement, and connecting with nature. My approach is always trauma-informed and honours your unique experiences. Our goal will be to help you understand your inner processes, enabling you to develop a healthier relationship with your emotions, nervous system, mind, and spirit. Whether you are dealing with anxiety, depression, life transitions, or seeking personal growth, we will work together to help you feel empowered and confident.
