-- Intern Therapist
MPA, MACP (in progress),
Registered Hypnotherapist,
Registered Psychotherapist
(Qualifying)
As an Asian immigrant in Canada, I have dedicated myself to anti-discrimination and anti-oppression efforts within a multicultural environment, advocating for marginalized groups. In addition to my extensive experience providing psychological counselling to Chinese-speaking clients, I actively participate in community activities. I have been involved in TV and radio interviews (Omni TV and FM105.9) and have delivered numerous psychological lectures aimed at destigmatizing psychotherapy and raising mental health awareness in the Chinese community. These lectures have covered topics such as parenting education, parent-child communication, mindfulness meditation, stress management, emotion regulation, crisis intervention, and domestic violence.
My top specialties are managing anxiety, depression and emotional stress. I have worked as a psychological coach for Chinese athletes aged 15 to 22 who participated in the floral projects of the 44th and 45th World Skills Competitions. I tailored counselling plans for these competitors throughout the entire competition preparation process, from provincial to worldwide competitions, helping them maintain the best mental state. The athletes I coached won the world championship in both competitions.
I served as the reviser for the Chinese version of the book titled The Instinct to Heal—Practice Awakening the Power of Transformance. This book combines traditional Chinese culture with AEDP (Accelerated Experiential Dynamic Psychotherapy) therapeutic theory and clinical practice. It emphasizes the secure attachment between psychotherapists and clients. A nurturing psychotherapist can help clients discover and develop their transformative abilities, enabling them to shift from states of anxiety, shame, and suffering to states of wisdom, confidence, and happiness.
I am a lifelong learner with a diverse educational background, holding a Bachelor's degree in Computer Communications, a Master's degree in Public Administration, and currently pursuing a Master of Arts in Counselling Psychology at Yorkville University. Since earning my certification as a psychological counselor in China and becoming a registered hypnotherapist with the National Guild of Hypnotists over 12 years ago, I have consistently expanded my knowledge and practice of various psychotherapy theories and techniques. These include Psychodynamics, Structural Family Therapy, Narrative Therapy, Solution-Focused Brief Therapy (SFBT), Mindfulness, Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), Gestalt Therapy, Accelerated Experiential Dynamic Psychotherapy (AEDP), Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT), Trauma Therapy, Ego State Therapy, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), OH Card, Music Therapy, Art Therapy, and Dance Movement Therapy. I am currently in the internship phase of my Counseling Psychology Master's program and am working towards certification as a Qualifying Registered Psychotherapist in Ontario.
In addition to my extensive studies, I have a rich work history, having been a teacher, engineer, full-time mother, and corporate manager. This diverse background gives me a deep understanding of the challenges individuals face in various aspects of life, work, and learning. I will bring all these experiences and knowledge into my ongoing exploration, deeper integration, and continued professional work. I am honoured to meet you at this pivotal moment in my professional journey, as this experience will become a unique asset in my career.

Ultimately, I will support you in finding your True Self, rewriting your life narrative, and achieving well-being.
