Thank you for taking the time to read about the support I provide. Recognizing vulnerabilities and seeking help takes courage. This is a bold first step, and possibly your first toward self-empowerment. If you are thinking about making changes and are ready to deal with your challenges and create a life that inspires you, I am here to help. I provide evidence-based treatment to improve relationships, build executive function skills, increase self-confidence, and heal from past trauma.
I have been a lead Careers Guidance and Counsellor, Special Education Resource Teacher and Department Head of Special Education in the Ontario public education system. I have completed all academic courses for a Masters in Counselling Psychology degree from Yorkville University. I also have a Bachelor of Education from the University of Toronto and a Bachelor of Arts in Disability Studies with a Minor in Community Support and Family Practice from Toronto Metropolitan University. I assisted in developing the Accessibility for Ontarians with Disabilities Act (2005). As a neurodiverse clinician, I have a unique understanding of ADHD and comorbid disorders and barriers to success. With two decades of related experience, and academic and lived experience with ADHD, I can help you connect with resources and solutions that work for your life. I can also help navigate programs and resources to support your needs. I believe in a personalized approach, understanding that each individual's journey is unique and valuable.
My Approach to Therapy
I support clients with ADHD and comorbid conditions, life transitions, anxiety, depression, and chronic pain/illness. During our initial sessions, we will collaborate on a flexible treatment plan that addresses your symptoms in a non-pathologizing, person-centred, solution-focused approach. Clients can expect gradual but steady goal attainment and sustained improvement. I use an eclectic approach tailored to suit your unique needs. In your first session, we'll discuss your goals and determine the best ways to support progress. Using combined techniques, including Solution-Focused, Cognitive Behavioural, Somatic and Mindfulness, we will examine how your thoughts affect emotions and your bodily reactions to stress. We will work together on your personal growth goals, using a strengths-based approach to build on your existing skills.
I would love to help you restore your self-esteem, health, academic and career fulfilment, and relationship satisfaction.
